A nice, firm handshake is sometimes all a cyborg needs to get through the day as an optimally functioning human being. It’s a decent embrace, I must say. A handshake omits the intimacy of a hug or a kiss, yet reminds me that we are not numb. We do not respond exclusively to metallic love. We will not break down under the oils of another’s skin.
My advice to the reader: When you meet me for the first time, shake my hand. And I mean really clutch it and throw it around. And please, do so with confidence. It’s the first human touch I haven’t had to pay for all day.
